Dairy & Milk Product Export FAQs

Common questions about exporting dairy products to China.

Does my dairy product need GACC registration?
Yes. All dairy products exported to China require GACC Decree 248 registration. This includes milk powder, cheese, butter, yogurt, and other dairy-derived products. Foreign dairy manufacturers must register before exporting.
How long does GACC registration take for dairy?
GACC registration for dairy products typically takes 4-8 weeks, depending on documentation completeness and product category. We handle the entire application process from document preparation to submission.
What labeling requirements apply to dairy imports?
Dairy products sold in China must comply with GB 7718 (general food labeling) and GB 28050 (nutrition labeling). Labels must be in simplified Chinese and include product name, ingredients, nutritional information, storage conditions, and country of origin.
Do infant formula products have special requirements?
Yes. Infant formula requires additional registration with SAMR (State Administration for Market Regulation) beyond GACC registration. Each formula must be individually approved, and the process can take 12-24 months. We provide end-to-end support.
Can chilled dairy products be imported?
Chilled and fresh dairy products face stricter import requirements, including temperature control during shipping and additional inspection. Frozen and shelf-stable dairy products have simpler import processes. We help determine the best approach for your products.
Is GACC registration valid forever?
No. GACC registration is valid for 5 years. Renewal must be submitted 6 months before expiration. We track your registration validity and notify you when renewal is due.
